Day 1 : Arrival in New Delhi
After customs formalities, welcoming at the airport by the driver and transfer to the hotel. Check in at your hotel.
Night in Delhi.
Day 2 : Visit of New Delhi and Old Delhi
This morning, after breakfast, visit of Old Delhi. The Red Fort and the great Mosk Jama Masjid are must-sees of the city. You’ll also visit the Chandni Chowk and its uncountable bazars: the spice market, the paper market, the jewel market etc. Later, visit of your choice in New Delhi: the Humayun grave, famous moghol emperor, the Qutub Minar, the « victory tower », known as the highest stone tower in India, the massive Gate of India and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, the vice-King place of residence turned into state buildings or the Laxmi Narayan temple where Gandhi used to come commune with himself. Back to the hotel for a second night in Delhi.
Day 3 : New Delhi / Jaïpur (250 kms / 5H drive)
In the morning, drive to Jaïpur, the famous pink city, founded by Maharajah Swai Jai Singh. Free time to visit the city. Night in Jaipur.
Day 4 : Visit of Jaïpur
After breakfast, vsiit of the Hawa Mahal, the Wind Palace, must-see of Jaïpur.Then, visit of the City Palace and nearby, the astronomical observatory Jantar Mantar founded by Raja Swai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. In the afternoon, walk along the Water Palace to Amber Fort, real architectural jewel and capital of the realm before Jaipur was created in 1727. Night in Jaipur.
Day 5 : Jaipur / Agra (240 kms / 4H drive)
In the morning, drive to Agra via Bharatpur (Keoladeo Ghanna National Park) and Fatehpur Sikri. The finest buildings follow one another in the former moghol capital: the Diwan – i – Am, Diwan – i – Khas, Panch Mahal, Jama Masjid, Birbal’s Palace, Panch Mahal, Buland Darwaza and the grave of famous soufi Saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. In the evening, excursion to the Taj Mahal to discover its twilight splendor.Night in Agra .
Day 6 : Agra / New Delhi (240 kms / 4H drive)
In the morning, visit of the Fort of Agra. On the drive back, visit of the Itimad-Ud-Daula grave, set up by the empress Noor Jahan in 1622-25 or Sikandra, the grave of great Akbar. Arrived in New Delhi, you can visit if you wish the Humayun grave, the Qutub Minar, the highest stone tower in India, the massive India Gate, the Rastrapathi Bhawan or the Laxmi Narayan Temple. After dinner, transfer to the Indira Gandhi international airport for onward destinations.
